Yikes. I apparently have found a new love. Photoshop painting. Seriously. Photoshop 5 comes with a painting palate… you have brushes that respond to both the pressure of your brush on your tablet, as well as the orientation of your wrist. You clean your brush when it is time for a new color. You can select how wet the brush is. And I am having a complete wave of creativity as a result… see specimen A: my new portrait of Kathleen and Arjan. You will see the original version of this photograph at the bottom of the post. Most of the information here is completely invented. I have taken the doodles I have been doing on sticky notes on my desk and applied them directly to my portraits. Combining them both into painting/drawings! Awesome.

I was partly inspired to craft this piece because of how amazing Kathleen and Arjan are. They have been incredible to work with across the board, from their super fun engagement portraits, to their really beautiful wedding in Athens.
