One of the highlights of my job is getting to go on Make a Wish events to document children’s wishes. Ashley’s wish was to become a real chef for a day, in a real professional kitchen, to cook her favorite foods for her family. Before she arrived with her siblings in the limo, her father told me that she could make the best homemade biscuits, which as a 9 year old, is quite a feat. And I think she really did have a perfect day. Her family was able to watch her prepare their glazed pork chops, broccoli and cheese (her absolute favorite) and rice pilaf for dinner… and molten chocolate cakes with homeade ice cream for desert!
